LALAYA Design is specialized in furniture that is handmade in Toronto. The studio’s inaugural collection brings out the hidden beauty and versatility of concrete, a material we have come to expect little of beyond stability and brute strength. The surprisingly delicate nature of LALAYA’s creations is attained through an exploration of shape, lightness, texture and even sound.
While the aesthetic is minimalistic, the studio’s playfulness shines through thanks to its love of slightly asymmetrical design and the unusually musical names chosen for each piece of furniture.
